As our nurses lives move in new and exciting directions, we would like to add a new Full time RVN nursing colleague to our team. You can join an independent veterinary practice with strong family values.

We have an established fully qualified team and fabulous, dedicated and well trained nurses growing with us through our vet nurse training program.

However we find ourselves with space for another registered veterinary nurse to join our friendly, well established team.

We know you are worth far more than “biscuits and cake”. You are a professional who has chosen this career above all others because you are compassionate, caring and committed to animal health and well-being. You enjoy the daily challenges and successes that being a veterinary nurse brings, and we would like to be a part of your future career.

When is an RVN not treated like an RVN?

When they spend half their day cleaning and answering phones. We value the skills of our veterinary nurses too highly to see them as a replacement receptionist or cleaner. That’s why our veterinary nurses don’t have scheduled reception time and why we employ both a general cleaner and kennel assistants to allow you to get on with the essential job of nursing.

Don’t get us wrong, we rely on the skills of our veterinary nurses to offer telephone support to clients with pet health worries, and to assist reception staff with telephone triage. However we want you to have enough time for the best hands on animal care, and face to face consulting time with clients and the pets who need your help.

All our full-time veterinary nurses have;

  • equally shared rota
  • mixture of early and late shifts
  • 1 in 5/6 weekends
  • no emergency on call
  • mixture of surgical and medical nursing
  • veterinary nurse consulting time

We have an amazingly varied caseload. Our long established reputation for exotic pet care means we come highly recommended by many exotic species owner groups and other veterinary practices both nationally and in the North East. If you want the challenge of caring for rabbits, rodents, reptiles and birds you’ll certainly find it here.

We also have vets with special interests in behaviour, sports and agility dogs, laboratory diagnostics, advanced surgery and alternative therapy (acupuncture). We have a generous nursing CPD allowance with scope to pursue special interests to support or compliment our existing team.

The successful applicant will work in our modern, well equipped, spacious practice, with a competitive salary and holiday package. Our staff are dedicated to their career and passionate about providing the best service for clients and the best care for their pets. Want to join us?
