We see an increasing and very varied caseload in our independent, 1st opinion small animal practice in the beautiful city of Durham.
Our experienced team are committed to good case continuity and regular case discussion, allowing you to experience both professional satisfaction and great work life balance. Interests that compliment those already in practice namely exotics, behaviour, advanced surgery, acupuncture, and greyhound/ performance dog would be supported, and we would be keen to discuss new directions with the right applicant. CPD funded and professional fees paid.

Our recently redesigned rota was created by our full vet team to maximise both our professional comprehensive service and our vets quality of life! Weekend work will be required,but no emergency on call.

We have an established fully qualified team and fabulous, dedicated and well trained nurses growing with us through our vet nurse training program.
However we find ourselves with space for another registered veterinary nurse to join our friendly, well established team.

When is an RVN not treated like an RVN?
When they spend half their day cleaning and answering phones. We value the skills of our veterinary nurses too highly to see them as a replacement receptionist or cleaner. That’s why our veterinary nurses don’t have scheduled reception time and why we employ both a general cleaner and kennel assistants to allow you to get on with the essential job of nursing.
Don’t get us wrong, we rely on the skills of our veterinary nurses to offer telephone support to clients with pet health worries, and to assist reception staff with telephone triage. However we want you to have enough time for the best hands on animal care, and face to face consulting time with clients and the pets who need your help.

We have an amazingly varied caseload. Our long established reputation for exotic pet care means we come highly recommended by many exotic species owner groups and other veterinary practices both nationally and in the North East. If you want the challenge of caring for rabbits, rodents, reptiles and birds you’ll certainly find it here.
We also have vets with special interests in behaviour, sports and agility dogs, laboratory diagnostics, advanced surgery and alternative therapy (acupuncture). We have a generous nursing CPD allowance with scope to pursue special interests to support or compliment our existing team.
