EMERGENCIES

During normal opening times call your Local Surgery and explain to the Receptionist the nature of the emergency, for example: an accident causing severe distress or unconsciousness, profuse bleeding, irregular breathing or choking, distress during giving birth.

REMAIN CALM AND LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!

If the emergency occurs out of hours: call your local surgery and listen carefully to the recorded instructions. If you have any problems contacting the surgery, try calling OUT OF HOURS below:

Out of Hours – Veterinary Care

The Out of Hours support for Gilmoor Vets is provided by two practices, please choose the practice that is most convenient for you and your pet. If you have an emergency out of hours either call Wilson Veterinary Group, Bishop Auckland, or Westway Veterinary Group, West road, Newcastle. You can also call your local surgery and you will be advised how to make contact.

Our emergency centres will arrange to have your pet returned to you, or advise you on transfer back to one of our surgeries at the earliest possible time.
