We see an increasing and very varied caseload in our 1st opinion small animal practice in the beautiful city of Durham.

Our experienced team are committed to good case continuity and regular case discussion, allowing you to experience both professional satisfaction and great work life balance. Interests that compliment those already in practice namely exotics, behaviour, advanced surgery, acupuncture, and greyhound/ performance dog would be supported, and we would be keen to discuss new directions with the right applicant. Our recently redesigned rota was created by our full vet team to maximise both our professional comprehensive service and our vets quality of life! Weekend work will be required,but no emergency on call.

      Veterinary Receptionist

      We are currently looking for a Customer care team member to work on our reception desk.

      The ideal candidate would have an interest in animals, existing administrative skills, an excellent telephone manner, computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of a friendly professional team committed to improving the care of animals and supporting their owners.

      Duties include:
      • Being a friendly, efficient and caring first contact and their pets.
      • providing this customer service in person and on the telephone.
      • Using practice management computer software.
      • Handling payments and end of the day cashing up.
      • Ensuring the waiting room, reception area and pharmacy are kept clean and tidy throughout the day.
      • Assisting the veterinary team with dispensing of medications and prescription requests.
      • Providing prompt and efficent communication to all members of the veterinary practice team.
      • Assisting with stock organisation and ordering.


      Experience and skills:
      • Previous customer service required
      • Veterinary experience preferred but not essential.

      Full time hours are available but part time roles will be considered. Currently Monday to Friday with time off in lieu for Saturday working (Saturday duties on a shared rota).

      Must be flexible and reliable.

      A valid driving license is preferred.
